Latin Foundation Courses
Latin Foundation and Core Elements courses will introduce you to the Latin grooves – Salsa and Zouk – that are sweeping Brisbane and the world. Perfect for Latin dance beginners, this class starts you off from scratch with a series of basic steps and fundamental elements to get you out onto the dance floor after your very first lesson. Each week new steps and turn patterns from both Salsa & Zouk will be taught and the previous week’s steps will be reviewed. You will receive expert tuition and friendly encouragement, all in a relaxed and fun environment. By the end of your seven-week introduction to Latin moves, you’ll never turn down a dance invitation again!How much does it cost?

Class Progression
Latin Foundation is perfect for newcomers to Latin dance. This class starts you from scratch introducing fundamental elements and basic steps to get you on the social dance floor after your first lesson. If you have previous dance experience give us a call to find the right class mix for you!

Core Elements One builds on the Latin Foundation course. You will develop your leading/following techniques and add to the exciting partner work in Salsa and Zouk. Before beginning this level students will need to be familiar with Salsa and Zouk basics, in particular rhythm and timing. Prerequisites for this course are simple right and left turns in Salsa, along with transitions; in Zouk, transitions between Closed and Open steps, including the first turn pattern.

Core Elements Two builds from Latin Core Elements One. This level incorporates more complex partner work and its variations for Salsa and Zouk, including individual “shines” and styling. You will be able to understand turn preparations and spotting techniques, as well as add more ideas and patterns to your social dancing vocabulary.
