Cha Cha Cha

Cha Cha Cha is an offshoot of the Mambo. In the slow Mambo tempo, there was a distinct sound in the music that people began dancing to, calling the step the "Triple" Mambo. Today it is a stylish partner dance of its own, with grounded attitude and accented movements connected to the rhythm itself. The dance consists of three quick steps (the “cha-cha-cha”) and two slow steps on the “2-3”: breaking (=stepping forward) on “2”, with the Cha-Cha steps falling on the “Gong Gong” (“4 &”).

If you have been dancing other styles, and have a strong foundation of timing and leading/following skills, this course will have you dancing Cha Cha Cha very quickly indeed.

The name “Cha Cha Cha” comes from the sound made by the shoes of the dancers on the floor.
