Alexis Fernandez

Alexis’s passion for the Latin culture started early on in life thanks to the cultural influences of her South American parents. Growing up always exposed to Latin-American music, she was always very involved in the culture. Alexis was always passionate about dancing, training in jazz, hip hop, ballet and salsa.

When Alexis discovered the opportunity to become a Zumba instructor, she jumped at the chance and in no time had begun teaching. It combines her love of keeping fit and her passion for Latin dancing and music. She has been teaching Zumba for a year now and has loved it every step of the way. She loves pushing herself and others, seeing results, and building a bond with everyone in her class.

Along with Zumba classes, Alexis is finishing a degree in psychology and French at UQ, pursuing her passion for acting, training in salsa, or for the bridge to Brisbane. She is a huge fan of comedy, riding her motorcycle, coffee, soccer, food, (primarily meat and olives), and tries to balance everything with a fun social life.
