About Chantal

Chantal grew up dancing on her dad’s feet, acting in theatre and short plays all through her childhood, dressing herself up (and her younger brother) in her Mother’s dance costumes, but never considering that she would dance herself. In 2003, she went along to a dance class to keep a friend company, and she lost herself to Latin dance straight away, in particular to Tango, Samba, Zouk, Gafieira and Salsa.

“After travelling to Brazil in 2004 and experiencing the Carnival, the people and the places, I have not been able to turn back, and I continue to travel the world for dance and enjoy the friendships, the freedom of expression, and the simple communication without words that dancing brings.”

Chantal aspires to become a great Burlesque star. She loves everything about Japan, and enjoys watermelons on a hot summer’s day.

"Ian and Desley are excellent teachers; they make you feel welcome and the class a lot of fun. The dancing is taught in easy to learn bite size chunks, making it easier to digest and practice in your own time. They also provide “one on one” guidance in class so you can overcome any hurdles. Dancing at SLG is a very enjoyable experience."
