This is opportunity to bring your friends along to experience the joys of dance with SLG. We know how hard it can be to get your friends started. But SLG provides Brisbane's friendliest Latin dance venue with a fun & super easy classes to help them to discover their Latin Groove!

These classes will give a taste of what’s to come in our next 7-week progressive courses - beginning from the 18th January 2010.

Come along and choose from three Fantastic Workshops

Beginners Zouk: 7:30pm to 8:30pm
Open Level Hip Hop: 7:30pm to 8:30pm
Club Rueda: 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Social Dancing from 8:30pm to 10:30pm

$10 for SLG Students and $15 for guests

Club Rueda will be for students who prior knowledge of this style. Dancers should be comfortable with intermediate level Rueda moves.

Open Level Hip Hop is for everyone with a basic dance background.

Zouk Beginners just requires basic dance knowledge. Bring your two left feet and go for it!

Gafieira Samba is one of Brazil's
most beautiful dances. Cheeky and stylish, it encourages both playfulness and grace. Gafieira Samba is loved for its energetic movements, its spirited connection between dance partners, and its entwining, Tango-like leg movements. Gafieira can look complicated, but SLG provides a teaching structure to simplify the learning process. You will learn a smooth Samba style with flexion and contra body movement.

When does the next course start?
Smooth Latin Groove courses generally are held in seven week blocks with a new course beginning every eight weeks.

How much does it cost?
Our 7-week progressive Latin Foundation courses are
$165.00 (inc. GST) ($160.00 when booked online)
Our 7-week progressive Focus courses are
$135.00 (inc. GST) ($130.00 when booked online)

Bonus: SLG’s Latin Foundation students receive two lessons per week!

If I enroll in more than one course does a discount apply?
Bonus: All Students receive a 30% discount on any extra 7-week course in the same Block!

Can I join a class mid-way through a term?
To receive maximum benefit from our curriculum, it's best to start at the beginning of the course. However, you may be able to get started within week 2 of a course. If we are in the middle of a course, a private session can be organized to catch you up. During the private session we will make sure that you don't miss anything and can comfortably enter your course.

Who can I talk to about the right class for me?

What should I wear?
Wear clothes that you feel good in and that also give you room to move. Good fitting shoes that are held securely on your foot (with little or even no heel to start) is the best way to go.

Do I need to have a partner?
You can come alone or as part of a couple.

Special Requirements?
No. Just yourself and a sense of humour.

Who does it?
SLG caters to dancers from the absolute beginner through to experienced Latin dancer. You will meet men and women from a range of ages, backgrounds, and interests. Take a look at the Photo Gallery

Will I get an opportunity to practice?
Absolutely! SLG hosts regular dance parties and practice sessions that offer you an opportunity practice your dance moves and to socialise in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Take a look at What's On

All Smooth Latin Groove students who are leaders and those wishing to learn to lead are eligible to receive an extra class each week for free.

This is a great opportunity brush up on leading skills as well as just having more time simply dancing, to go over the steps they have learnt in previous terms, and to make a great impression on the dance floor.
